Hopeless Canaries To Suffer Burnley Defeat

As Norwich’s Premier League days die out, they play hosts to Burnley this weekend in a 5:30pm kick-off at Carrow Road.

The Canaries lost their spot in the Premier League last weekend, thanks to West Ham’s Michail Antonio hitting four past them.

The defeat came as no surprise to Daniel Farke’s side as it was their seventh consecutive defeat, and since then they have also fallen to the hands of Chelsea.

Battling Burnley will be hoping they can make it nine consecutive defeats for Norwich this weekend, as they fight for three points to keep their European football hopes alive.

Last time out Burnley beat Norwich 2-0, with a Chris Wood double proving too much for Farke’s side to recover from.

Wood has since been out injured but regained his place in the starting eleven against Liverpool, as Burnley forced the champions to drop their first Premier League points at Anfield this season, holding them to a 1-1 draw.

Despite Wood’s return, Burnley still don’t fall short of Injuries with Ashley Barnes, Ben Mee, Matt Lawton, Charlie Taylor and Jack Cork all out and not available for the match.

Norwich have also been hit hard with injuries this season and will be without Moritz Leitner, and defenders Grant Hanley, Christoph Zimmermann and Sam Byram for the game.

Injury burdened Burnley have proved time and time again that they can still perform in the Premier League, and things aren’t likely to be any different against Norwich.

Whatever the scoreline a Wood’s goal is likely along the way, as the striker returned to the scoresheet against Wolves on Wednesday, and has already scored twice against Norwich this season, so he is sure to be fired up for the clash.
