Reds To End Title Winning Season On A High

As the Premier League comes to a close for the season, there is still another day of what should be thrilling football still to play including the Champions Liverpool’s trip to St James’ Park to face Newcastle – here is all the key information you need to know ahead of kick-off.

It is a game that will pose very little significance to either club, however with professional pride on the line and both sides allowed to play with freedom it could be another exciting topflight match.

The hosts find themselves sitting in 13th spot, the same place they finished last campaign, and with no way of finishing higher than where they are currently positioned the club will be keen to avoid dropping down the table.

Steve Bruce’s men have not taken to the restart as they would have hoped with their last victory coming on the 1st July as they ran riot against relegation candidates Bournemouth 4-1.

Since then however they have only managed to pick up two points from their last five outings, their latest match against Brighton was not one to capture the imagination as it ended 0-0.

Liverpool will be coming into the game with their heads held high after claiming a well-deserved Premier League title earlier this month.

Jurgen Klopp and his men finally got their hands on the trophy on Wednesday evening after securing the title a few games prior.

The Reds managed to pick up their form in their last outing against Chelsea after dropping points in the two games before.

In a tantalising 90 minutes where eight goals were scored, Liverpool avoided a comeback scare winning the game by five goals to three.

The England and European champions will be eager to repeat the reverse fixture against this weekend’s opponents when they met back in September.

After finding themselves behind at Anfield, Liverpool showed their threat as they scored three goals to secure the win.

With both sides going into the game with virtually nothing on the line it is set up to be a rather lacklustre 90 minutes.

However with Liverpool’s depth in attacking threat I think they will be able to find themselves with enough goal scoring opportunities to bag themselves a couple of goals to round the season off in superb fashion.
