In the only Premier League fixture of Tuesday evening, Manchester United travel to Brighton for an 8:15pm kick-off at the Amex Stadium.
In their previous two Premier League meetings, United have come out on top, most recently beating The Seagulls 3-1 in November.
November’s scoreline didn’t even reflect the dominant display of United and was in fact quite flattering towards Brighton who only had six shots, compared to United’s 21.
Since that woeful performance, things haven’t got much better for Graham Potter’s side, who have won just three of their league games since.
Manchester United on the other hand, have become much more clinical as the season has progressed, not losing in their last seven league games.
One United player that has certainly proved their ability this season is Anthony Martial, the striker scored The Red’s first Premier League hat-trick since 2013 last Wednesday, guiding them to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United.
Any Brighton fan watching that fixture would have been filled with fear, as Marcus Rashford and Martial looked to take no prisoners as they attacked the goal.
However, The Seagulls will take hope from the fact that they have taken four points from the last six on offer, getting their first league win of the year against Arsenal, who they beat 2-1.
Another glimmer of light for Brighton is that they will also have duo, Ezequiel Schelotto and Beram Kayal, available for the United game as they have both extended their contracts through to the end of the season.
Any hope may be short-lived though, as looking ahead Potter’s side face a tough run of fixtures, first against United, followed by clashes with Liverpool and Manchester City still needing to be played this season.
Sadly, for Brighton, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has looked to have found his best United starting eleven, and Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford have both returned from injury raring to go.
With The Red Devils being fighting fit again and full of fire, I think a United win is almost definite – as well as a few more Martial goals!
